Luxembourg boasts one of the most modern data center parks in Europe with low latency connections to all of the major European Internet hubs. It has some 20 data centers in operation, totaling a net floor space of over 40,000 m2 (over 440,000 ft2). Luxembourg has thus positioned itself as a leading data center marketplace in Europe, surpassing cities like Stockholm or Brussels with regards to shared IT Rooms. With a surface of 2,586 km2 (999 square miles) and only a 500,000 habitants, Luxembourg has probably one of the highest data center densities in Europe and the world.

This is one of the reasons why many major public and private players have established their data centers in Luxembourg, including the European Commission and many financial institutions.

The majority of data centers is recent constructions and offer Tier-IV or Tier-III service level with fully redundant subsystems (power, cooling and components), controlled access zones, competitive energy prices and guaranteed power supply. Advanced power supply systems are fairly common in Luxembourg, as you can find ultra high density racks (10-40 kW) and UPS systems 2*(N+1). Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods or hurricanes are unknown to Luxembourg. There are is no server tax in Luxembourg.
